Yvonne Gutierrez, mentor to Juan & Caridad Portella, is an Afro-Latinx New York-based Artist of Cuban descent specializing in Salsa, Spanish Dance and Flamenco. Her focus is on her vision of life that is full of passion while at the same time offers an emerging individual experience.

Now in a distinguished group of Dance Teacher Magazine Honorees, Gutierrez continues her work with young people as well as adults exploring the dance forms through study, practice and performance. Training and foundation based on the “Tina Ramirez Legacy” - the Familia Networking Approach. Gutierrez’s work extends beyond traditional studio teaching and event performances by tailoring dance experiences to the needs of the community’s marginalized groups. Her experience reaches all ages in classes, workshops, mentoring, choreography and private coaching.
